ABOUT FLORENCE
Florence M. Keaton is a retired English teacher, and her ongoing research into her family tree inspires her to write novels relating to her ancestors' remarkable experiences. She was born and raised in Waco, Texas, and currently resides in Dallas, Texas. Presently, she's working on the sequel to Bluebonnet Road called Bluebonnet Hotel.
Florence's creative efforts stem from growing up in an airline family and traveling all over the world, her vivid imagination as an only child, and the losses and triumphs in her life. Music and rebellion ruled her teenage years, and after dropping out of high school at age sixteen, she wrote her first novel that's hidden in her closet because of its juvenile, uneducated prose.
At age thirty-three and with only a tenth-grade education, Florence enrolled in a junior college and won almost every collegiate writing contest she entered. School was difficult, but she persevered and transferred to a four-year university where she completed her studies.
After graduate school, Florence left the university, and her college degrees in English and geography took her back to the same junior college where she started as a student, but this time, she was on the staff as an English teacher. Over the years, Florence received praise from students and colleagues alike for her innovative teaching methods and ability to inspire students to write creatively.
