ABOUT ME

Florence M. Keaton Frame.jpg

I'm a retired English teacher, and my ongoing research into my family tree inspires me to write novels relating to my ancestors' remarkable experiences. I was born and raised in Waco, Texas, and currently reside in Dallas, Texas. Presently, I'm working on the sequel to Bluebonnet Road called, Bluebonnet Hotel.
My creative efforts stem from growing up in an airline family and traveling all over the world, my vivid imagination as an only child, and the losses and triumphs in my life. Music and rebellion ruled my teenage years, and after dropping out of high school at age sixteen, I wrote my first novel that's hidden in my closet because of its juvenile, uneducated prose.
At age thirty-three and with only a tenth-grade education, I enrolled in a junior college and won almost every collegiate writing contest I entered.  School was difficult, but I persevered and transferred to a four-year university where I completed my studies.

After graduate school, I left the university, and my college degrees in English and geography took me back to the same junior college where I started as a student, but this time, I was on the staff as an English teacher. Over the years, I received praise from students and colleagues alike for my innovative teaching methods and my ability to inspire students to write creatively.
